Chihene Nde Nation of New Mexico: Land of the People Grand Opening

Join the Chihene Nde (Gila Apache) Nation to celebrate the grand opening of Land of the People, a landmark exhibit telling the stories of six Indigenous groups with historic and contemporary roots in the Borderland region: Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, Pueblo of Tortugas, Mescalero Apache Tribe, Piro/Manso/Tiwa Indian Tribe, Chiricahua Apache Nation, and the Chihene Nde Nation of New Mexico.

Visitors will have the chance to meet the people who helped bring this exhibit to life, experience demonstrations, and participate in hands-on activities. Through their own words and perspectives, each community shares traditions, lifeways, and visions for the future.

26th Annual CASA Institute

CESDP is proud to host the 26th Annual Communities for Action, Solutions, and Advancement (CASA) Institute 2025. This year’s gathering will bring together linguistically and culturally diverse students, parents, grandparents, educators, and community leaders to focus on education, leadership, and solutions-based approaches that honor cultural knowledge.

The theme for 2025 is:
“Strengthening our voice and our actions to transform our communities.”

Join us for a day of dialogue, learning, and shared vision as we continue to build stronger communities together.

NMHU Matanza

Celebrate tradition and community at NMHU’s annual Matanza, featuring fire roasting, on-site food preparation, and a lively bizcochito contest. Families can enjoy games, entertainment, and cultural activities throughout the weekend.

• Please bring your own chair or blanket.

• Outside food, beverages, and weapons of any kind are not permitted.
