What is the Acequia and Land Grant Education (ALGE) Project? CESDP answers this question by providing an overview of the project’s origins and its exciting outcomes to date in the latest issue of the Green Fire Times. “Key to the project,” CESDP Director Sandoval writes, “is centering the pools of knowledge of our communities and ensuring they are included in our state’s public schools.” The CESDP article highlights how some of New Mexico’s land-based cultures and traditions have inspired a grassroots movement to reimagine meaningful K-12 learning experiences and ensure students have access to quality curricula that take up topics of stewardship, sustainability, heritage, and identity.
