We work with students, families, and school communities to strengthen the K-20 educational pipeline, increase opportunities for all students to successfully transition from middle school to high school and from high school to career &amp; college.&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ENLACE aims to serve as a catalyst to strengthen partnerships and create coalitions among institutions, K-12 school districts, communities, businesses, families, and other funders that are working to increase opportunities for Latinos to enter and complete college. ENLACE in New Mexico was initially funded by the W.K. AVID pulls these students out of their unchallenging courses and puts them on the college track: acceleration instead of remediation.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The AVID Elective -\u2014 AVID students enroll in their school&#8217;s toughest classes, such as honors and Advanced Placement, and also in the AVID elective. For one period a day, they learn organizational and study skills, work on critical thinking and asking probing questions, get academic help from peers and college tutors, and participate in enrichment and motivational activities that make college seem attainable.
